I teached special education students and would be interested to have this community share their experience and any activities that especially worked well in their classroom on my other network ASSET (Association of Science Special Education Teachers).
Two of the most successful activities I did last year were both Kagen strategies. 1 lesson was teaching about observation skills by getting personal with a peanut- touching, tasting, shaking were all part of the activity. The other activity I did with my resource students was to have them classify animal cards-pictures of animals- into different categories, cold blooded, reptiles etc. Both were hands on and students enjoyed them.
