Hey Kevin,

Thanks! Actually, I'm not a science (classroom) teacher, but instead a tech producer.

I was checking out some Ning groups, wondering about how to reach out to science educators for input on a free, web-based tool (data sponge) we're creating at our nonprofit, the Public Learning Media Labs.

Unlike most educational tools, it's not going to revolutionize education (grin). But it is a nifty method for collecting real data and presenting it in real time - the Sponge is a tool that captures and graphs real-time data from the web (e.g., earthquakes in the US, (depth and magnitude), or temperature and humidity, etc) and provides an ongoing graph.

So, that's why we joined :o)

Cheers & thanks for your welcome,

I just wanted to thank you for posting your density hart lesson. I shared it with my students and they seemed to really like it. I also shared it with the two other physical science teachers. They liked it, too.

Friday, I was singing the atom's family to my last class when the principal walked in. I found lyrics that apply to the atom, using the old tv show Adams Family tune. Most of the students sang. I sang completly off key, but it was fun.

Thanks again for sharing your density lesson.
