Middle School Science Teacher

Share and Discuss Teaching Science in a Middle School

Hello Everyone,

I sent this note out to my friends but I think it's important to repeat here so everyone can read it.

One of my goals of the Middle School Science Teacher site is to increase communication with other teachers. My biggest obstacle, however, is that there is never enough time to explore these other 2.0 web technologies given the amount of students I have every day. It's time consuming to post content, images, and videos with such a busy day. I'm sure you sometimes feel the same way after teaching middle school students all day. This is my 13th year teaching and I know from experience that as the year moves on, I have less and less time for other things.

To help us keep the communication lines open, please consider opening a free account over at Plurk.com. I have a plurk and twitter account and I think Plurk would be great for all of us to check in with each other. It's a great way to microblog and follow a conservation and share links. The conservations are like instant messages, but many people can contribute. I like it better than Twitter because you can group people and follow conservations much easier than on Twitter. We could keep in contact with each other as often as your time permits and it would only take a few minutes of your time. I am kevtech over at Plurk. Go check it out, I really think it's a good tool and would enhance our teaching this year. Let me know what you think.

Dave, I added you to my friends list. Go see if I'm there. I think you have to confirm it though, on top left you will see Alerts.

I love this idea, though I'm "in too deep" with my Twitter contacts. I don't want to add another network to follow at this point... I find Twitter to be used by the greatest number of learning professionals.

I recommend following Twitter using TweetDeck. It allows groups and has a built in tiny url device.

I'm https://twitter.com/edreisbach on Twitter. I'd love to connect with more middle school science teachers!
